Biodiesel Conference Success

Representatives from the Greater Washington Region Clean Cities, the Smithsonian Institution, and the United Soybean Board were on hand April 11, 2012 for attendees to learn about the benefits companies could realize by incorporating Biodiesel into their existing fleet.

Clean Cities' primary goal is to reduce petroleum use in the United States by 2.5 billion gallons per year by 2020.

To achieve this goal, Clean Cities employs three strategies: Reduce petroleum use through smarter driving practices,
idle reduction, and fuel-efficient vehicles Eliminate petroleum consumption through the use of mass transit, trip-elimination measures, and congestion mitigation.

Clean Cities coalitions and stakeholders have saved 3 billion gallons of petroleum since the program's inception in 1993.
